Mixer Driver Primary responsibility is safely operating a concrete mixer truck to transport ready mixed concrete from a batch plant to customer job sites. Is also responsible for inspecting, servicing and cleaning the truck. Timely and accurate completion of necessary paperwork is expected. Must be able to read driving maps and follow driving directions. Requires a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

Normal work hours are typically between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm M-F. However you must be able to work flexible hours since customers regularly request product delivery at all times of the day/night and on Sat/Sun.Position Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum age of 21 years old required. Current, valid driver’s license. Current, valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Strongly prefer at least one year of experience driving heavy equipment especially in construction or construction-related positions. Satisfactory driving and criminal record. General knowledge of the local area is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with simple math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (especially percentages) as well as measurements. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions (oral and written) and to work independently. Prefer stable work record to include no more than 3 jobs in the past 5 years.
  • Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English.

Mixer Driver Trainee Concrete Mixer Truck Driver Trainee – summary job description

Attend training classes to learn and demonstrate how to safely operate a concrete mixer truck resulting in successfully passing the NC Commercial Drivers License Class B exam at the completion of the training.
Qualifications
  • Current/valid NC Drivers License
  • Satisfactory driving and criminal records. Prefer no current driving points and no felony convictions within the past 5 years Some experience driving heavy equipment preferred. Stable employment history (no more than 3 jobs in the last 5 years or 5 jobs in the last 10 years) Satisfactory job references HS diploma or equivalent preferred Current/valid  DOT Physical (prefer with no restrictions)
  • All applicants must submit to a pre-employment drug screen.

Plant Operator

Responsible for accurately batching concrete according to specific customer orders. Interacts very closely with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries. Also works very closely with mixer drivers to answer questions and solve problems as they arise. A valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is preferred and experience as a concrete mixer driver is a plus. Level I DOT Certification is often required.

Normal work hours are typically between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm M-F. However you must be able to work flexible hours since customers regularly request product delivery at all times of the day/night and on Sat/Sun.

Equipment Operator

Responsible for operating equipment on the plant grounds to ensure raw materials are properly stored and loaded into bins for batching concrete. Interacts closely with plant operator and plant manager. Typically responsible for receiving incoming raw materials that includes verifying the quality and amount of materials received. Will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance on plant and equipment as needed. A valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is required.

Plant Manager

Responsible for the production of quality ready mix concrete for a specific plant location. This will include operating or coordinating the batching function, supervising mixer truck drivers and any equipment operators as applicable. Interacts closely with dispatch and mixer drivers. Previous experience as a mixer driver is strongly preferred and a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is required.

Tanker Driver

Responsible for operating a tanker truck to transport raw materials from various vendor locations to designated plant locations. A valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is required. Interacts closely with plant managers and dispatch.

Quality Control Technician Responsible for ensuring quality throughout the entire process of producing ready mixed concrete to include raw materials, mix designs and finished products. Interacts regularly with external customers, sales representatives, operations/production employees, vendors and engineers. Requires good communication skills and familiarity/experience with statistics. Previous experience with concrete or construction materials is strongly preferred.

Dispatcher Responsible for coordinating delivery of product to customers based on customer orders, availability of materials and availability of equipment. Requires regular and frequent interaction with customers, sales representatives and operations employees (especially mixer drivers). Must have solid verbal and written communication skills. Wills also be required to answer telephones to include taking customer orders and handling customer questions and issues. Previous experience as a mixer driver is a plus.

Sales Representative

Responsible for generating sales revenue in a specific geography by selling company products to customers in all areas of construction including residential, commercial and institutional markets. Requires regular interaction with quality control, dispatch and production/operations. Must have solid verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience in construction or construction related industry is strongly preferred. Prior sales experience is a plus.

Plant Maintenance Responsible for performing routine, preventive, diagnostic and repair maintenance on all non-vehicle company equipment in a timely and cost effective manner. Will require daily travel to potentially any of our plant locations based on needs. Previous maintenance experience is required with experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance strongly preferred. Requires regular interaction with plant managers and operators as well as outside vendors and contractors. A valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is preferred

Fleet Maintenance Responsible for performing routine, preventive, diagnostic and repair maintenance on company owned vehicles (primarily concrete mixer trucks) in a timely and cost effective manner. Previous experience as a heavy vehicle mechanic is required as well as a Commercial Drivers License (CDL). Requires regular interaction with mixer drivers and vendors.

Administrative Support We have a limited number of clerical and support roles in Accounting, Human Resources, Sales and Maintenance. These positions are responsible for providing the necessary administrative support to each function. This can include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accountant, Receptionist, Benefits Administrator, Payroll Coordinator, Sales Administrator and Inventory Control Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma required with AA or BS/BA degree preferred in occupational safety, business or engineering curriculum
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 5 years of safety experience.
  • Strong preference for some experience in management and/or safety skills training
  • Safety certification is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computer and spreadsheet software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and through others.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and oral.
