This awards honors the best ready mixed concrete truck paint and decal schemes, and recognizes individual company’s methods of promoting professionalism and positive public image for the industry. Cosponsored by Concrete Products magazine and the OES Committee, the award winners were determined by voting at the NRMCA 2010 Fall Conference in Charlotte, NC, and a panel of industry consultants and equipment representatives. The NRMCA’s Green-Star Certification is a plant-specific certification that utilizes an Environmental Management System (EMS) based on a model of continuous improvement. Versa Lok 2010 Design Contest Runner Up |
|
A spectacular view of Smith Mountain Lake and easy access to the boathouse is the payoff for a multilevel patio/wall/stairs complex that wraps around this Bedford, VA, house and traverses a steep shoreline slope. The project was designed by Andy White, hardscape team manager with Southern Landscape Group in Evington, VA.
Custom black iron fencing and white cast-stone column caps set off the well-proportioned VERSA-LOK Mosaic walls, planters and stairs that make full use of the lakeshore hillside without overcrowding it. Pockets of plantings throughout bring in additional color and textures for a natural-looking landscape. The project ties the upper-level home together with the lower lakeside amenities beautifully.
“A very creative layout with a lot of interesting details, wrote one judge. “Matching Mosaic walls with Standard steps was done extremely well.”
The VERSA-LOK Mosaic and Standard product were manufactured by Marshall Concrete Products in Christiansburg, VA. |

Chandler Concrete Company Receives 2006 Carolinas AGC Pinnacle Award for Best Supplier/Service Company |
|
Chandler Concrete Company was recently honored with receiving the very prestigious Carolinas AGC Pinnacle Award for Best Supplier/Service Company.
Bob Chandler, Vice President of Sales & Marketing was very excited and honored to accept the Pinnacle Award on behalf of all Chandler employees. Bob stated “This award would not have happened without the dedication and support of our entire company. Our goal is to always supply the best ready mixed concrete whenever and wherever needed, no matter how large or small the job. We strive to continually give our customers the best customer service and satisfaction they deserve for all their concrete needs.”
The first Pinnacle Awards were presented in 1992 after contractor members of the Carolinas AGC’s Strategic Plan Task Force envisioned a program honoring “the best of the best” in the Carolinas construction industry. Over the years, the program’s structure has moved to limit the number of winners. Today, there are Pinnacle-level winners in three categories, with no runners-up in order to uphold the standard of excellence that has become the tradition of the Pinnacle Awards.
Chandler Concrete Company takes great pride in its accomplishment of winning a Pinnacle Award from the Carolinas AGC. We thank all our employees and customers for their support.
